Process Systems Optimization
PROCESS SYSTEMS OPTIMIZATION
DESCRIPTION
This course provides an introduction to the theoretical basis of optimization and associated numerical methods. The concepts are illustrated with examples from the process systems engineering discipline. State of the art modeling and optimization software is introduced and used to create and solve models of interest to the process industry. The course covers the following topics:
• Linear programming
• Nonlinear programming
• Mixed integer programming
• Dynamic optimization
• Introduction to modeling and optimization platforms (GAMS)
TARGET AUDIENCE
Managerial and technical staff of process companies including, but not limited to, petroleum, petrochemical and food industries.
